ITEM RATE BUILD UP
Standard Items (as opposed to Composite
Items) may be compiled from one or more resources selected from your
Resource Library
Key Features
- Select all the resources you need by ticking the selection box
- Drill down to original resource record
- Output option for labour/plant resources
- Auto calc. rate totals after all changes
- FastFind - Enter a key word(s) or part of a word in the last row to
search for the resource you want
- The Rate Buildup window may be kept open in some situations allowing you to view / edit
the buildup of any highlighted rate without requiring drill down (although
this is still possible)
To Build a Rate:
- Use the Select Resources button (or right click menu) to load
the Select Resources form.
- Load the page where your resources are held (or use Search)
- Tag the resources you want
to use in your rate and Save & Close when complete
- Quantify each resource for this rate. Note that for bill items, the Extended Data values are also calculated (you may have to scroll right to view these columns)
Output - Use this field to enter values normally associated with
labour or plant. For example if you know that a bricklayer can lay 0.5m2
of single brick per hour then enter this value in the Output column. For
a value entered as an Output, Fast Estimate calculates the Required Qty
value using the formula: 1/Output. Another example could be an excavator
that can excavate 2.5 m3 per hour with a given bucket size. Entering 2.5
into the Output column will calculate the correct number of hours required
to complete a unit of the task being measured.
Bill Item Rate - Extended Values
Extended Qty - This is the Required Qty multiplied by the bill item Qty to give the total quantity required for this bill item
Extended Net Amount - The total net item value for this resource
Notes
- The Item Buildup can be displayed either be in overlay form (all other windows
are frozen during editing) or can be an already open 'live' window
where you can view/edit the build up directly (See Active Tools)
- After adding a quantity value for each resource a total for the rate
(with breakdown) is calculated after applying any waste
- You may have to scroll right to view Extended Values, displayed with a blue background
Tips
- A FastFind function has been included to further speed resource selection.
If you know the resource name (or any part of it), enter it into the
highlighted Description box and press Enter to list all resources that
include your search word or phrase.
